Afternoon. You picked up Linda near the Kroger's on US23 and her friend Patti drove back to her home in Tiffin. Linda's choice -- Mellow Mushroom for pizza on Polaris Blvd. at noon. A few minutes ago, you drove to Westervelt Farms on Africa for a tomato and corn on the cob as part of a light supper. - Amorella
1634 hours. Jadah and I have taken our nap and ready for the evening. I am feeling much better today. Earlier, I did decide to upload Note 30 and Note 31 onto my Facebook page and implored any reader out there to please accept them as a connected blog. This way my friend in South Africa has no obligation to share my blogs if she so wishes. I hope that the words inspire the inner humanity in some people but that has not been my intent at all, never thought about it. I mentioned this to Carol saying, "I am not a very inspiring person as you well know," she laughed. Linda will be here for a few days so she will stir our usual routine, which is a good thing. We tend to find ourselves in a rut from time to time. We do enjoy our retirement.
You had an early supper consisting of corn on the cob, a tomato, and baked apples for dessert. - Amorella
1722 hours. Nothing in my head at the moment. Tomorrow, lunch with Fritz. The girls will go out on their own. Someone is coming to put in a new front door lock as they couldn't get a part for the old one. Other than that, we are free tomorrow. Looking forward to NBC News tonight and Linda also likes "Rachel" at nine.
Post. - Amorella
Hey, old man, I have an idea we might explore later. - mh
1727 hours. That's fine with me, Ms Havisham.
Post. - Amorella
You, Carol and Linda watched the "Rachel Maddow" show tonight with the second half focused on an interview with Hillary Clinton. You three agreed that Hillary did a very good job explaining how things can be while working at State. - Amorella
2220 hours. Hillary gave a good support of those at State who are non-political and work to do a good job for the United States at large, and I was taken back memory-wise to thinking about Carol's father and how it was at State when he was there and also working at the American Embassies in Korea, South Vietnam, Thailand, and India. I wonder what he would think of all these national political problems today. Abusive of power? Constitutional questions? A litany of political and Constitutional matters? It is easy to become depressed when dwelling on such circumstances, many because such situations appear hopeless to being resolved in any genuine manner. Such then is the world at large.
You can't set out to dam a full running river, old man. - mh
2237 hours. True, and right on point. What is the idea you want to explore, Ms Havisham?
Empathetic kindness. - mh
2245 hours. How do you mean, compassionate kindness? I think it would not be well received by another, that the receiver would think the supposed compassion for another's plight was an insincere form of charity. A model of talking down to someone. People resent others helping them because it reminds them that they should be helping themselves out of their situation or plight.
This reminds me of the Merlyn trilogy and how earthlings might be angry to find friendly aliens helping them to do things they themselves should be doing anyway, without alien assistance. It is a Catch-22 situation. We (Amorella and I) invented a hybrid (half earthling, half Marsupialan) to be born to help the process move along. I forget her character's name. She was important in the third book. She had a womb and a pouch system. Two feminine channels, so to speak. That book was a long time ago. It felt real when we wrote them. I basically wrote them because they were not so well accomplished literary-wise.
Tomorrow, we talk, old man. - mh
2305 hours. I am too old for this kind of thing, Ms Havisham.
Exploring kindness is not too much for anyone, no matter what one's age. - mh
