33. Notes - kindness / tit for tat

33.  3 October 2019

You stopped at Schneider's for breakfast doughnuts and milk, then drove to Otterbein Cemetery to take down artificial flowers at the grave sites, and you trimmed and cleaned up in the surrounding area as the graves are at the northwest boundary of the cemetery. Presently, Carol and Linda are out digging up weeds in the front flower garden. (Digging up weeds is something Linda enjoys doing as their lawn at home is mostly a garden anyway, no grass as such in front, back or sides of a double lot. Bill is a master gardener.) - Amorella

1027 hours. I am forgetful that Ms Havisham is taking this blog from her viewpoint. As a soul kindness is a given, or appears to be, and she is right. This is her last comment to me in yesterday's Note 32: "exploring kindness is not too much for anyone, no matter what one's age."

Thank you, old man, for the introduction. Following your lead on things, let's begin with an introduction from Wikipedia. - mh

Kindness

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kindness is a behavior marked by ethical characteristics, a pleasant disposition, and concern and consideration for others. It is considered a virtue, and is recognized as a value in many cultures and religions (see ethics in religion).
In Book II of "Rhetoric", Aristotle defines kindness as "helpfulness towards someone in need, not in return for anything, nor for the advantage of the helper himself, but for that of the person helped". Nietzsche considered kindness and love to be the "most curative herbs and agents in human intercourse". Kindness is considered to be one of the Knightly Virtues. In Meher Baba's teachings, God is synonymous with kindness: "God is so kind that it is impossible to imagine His unbounded kindness!"

In society

In human mating choice, studies suggest that both men and women value kindness and intelligence in their prospective mates, along with physical appearance, attractiveness, social status, and age.

Nice guy

A "nice guy" is an informal and usually stereotypical term for an (often young) adult male who portrays himself as gentle, compassionate, sensitive, and/or vulnerable. The term is used both positively and negatively. When used positively, and particularly when used as a preference or description by someone else, it is intended to imply a male who puts the needs of others before his own, avoids confrontations, does favors, gives emotional support, tries to stay out of trouble, and generally acts nicely towards others. In the context of a relationship, it may also refer to traits of honesty, loyalty, romanticism, courtesy and respect. When used negatively, a nice guy implies a male who is unassertive, does not express his true feelings and, in the context of dating (in which the term is often used), uses acts of ostensible friendship with the unstated aim of progressing to a romantic or sexual relationship.

In psychology

Based on experiments at Yale University using games with babies, some studies concluded that kindness is inherent to human beings. There are similar studies about the root of empathy in infancy - motor mirroring developing in the early months of life, to lead (optimally) to the easy concern shown by children for their peers in distress.
Barbara Taylor and Adam Phillips have stressed the element of necessary realism in adult kindness, as well as the way “real kindness changes people in the doing of it, often in unpredictable ways”.

In literature

·       The Tirukkural, an ancient Indian work on ethics and morality, dedicates a separate chapter on kindness (Chapter 8, verses 71–80), furthering the value in other chapters, such as hospitality (verses 81–90), uttering pleasant words (verses 91–100), compassion (verses 241–250), moral vegetarianism (verses 251–260), non-violence (verses 311–320), non-killing (verses 321–330), and benignity (verses 571–580), among others.
·       Mark Twain from a compassion point of view considered "Kindness [as a] language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see."
·       It has been suggested that 'most of Shakespeare's opus could be considered a study of human kindness'.
·       Robert Louis Stevenson considered that 'the essence of love is kindness; and indeed, it may best be defined as passionate kindness: kindness, so to speak, run mad and become importunate and violent'.
·       The Christian apostle Paul lists kindness as one of the nine traits considered to be the "fruit of the Spirit"  in Galatians 5:22. In 1 Corinthians 13:4 he states, "Love is patient, love is kind."
·

In media

Based on the novel of the same name written in 1999 by author Catherine Ryan Hyde, the motion picture Pay it Forward, which starred Kevin Spacey, Helen Hunt, Haley Joel Osment and Jon Bon Jovi, illustrates the power one person can have to make an impact on a chain reaction of kind deeds. The philosophy of Pay It Forward is that through acts of kindness among strangers, we all foster a more caring society. In the book and film, Reuben St. Clair, a social studies teacher in Atascadero, California, challenges his students to "change the world". One of his students, Trevor, takes the challenge to heart. He starts by showing kindness to a stranger which ripples further than he could have ever imagined.
In October 2011, Life Vest Inside posted a video called "Kindness Boomerang". It shows how one act of kindness passes seamlessly from one person to the next and boomerangs back to the person who set it into motion. Orly Wahba, Life Vest Inside Founder and Director of Kindness Boomerang explains that each scene was based on real life experiences she personally went through; moments of kindness that left a lasting impression on her life. Within several months after its release, Kindness Boomerang went viral; reaching over 20 million people globally and eventually landing Wahba spot on the TED201 stage to speak about the power of kindness.

1046 hours. I am embarrassed to say this, but I did not know Wikipedia had anything on the subject of kindness. I never looked it up.

Here is the point. In being kind to others one becomes kinder to one's own sense of being. - mh

1510 hours. Is this a rule, Ms Havisham?

This is a guide for your own common sense, old man. - mh

       Post. - Amorella

1515 hours. I don't know where I thought this [kindness] was going but it didn't go there.

Souls do not have rules or laws. We have what we are. - mh

1518 hours. What do we have?

Old man, you have your humanity. - mh

1521 hours. Having humanity doesn't mean anything in itself.

If you want ethics, Humanity is all you have. In context, it is all you take with you. Humanity supplies the spiritual blood to the spiritual heartanmind. - mh

1526 hours. That is the way you souls may see it, but that does not make it real or true.

This work is from my point of view not yours. - mh

1528 hours. Ms Havisham, you might as well be one of my fictional Marsupial humanoid aliens in the Merlyn trilogy. No one is going to accept what you say about being human is true because you are not human.

I am a soul. Yours presently. - mh

1532 hours. You are becoming belligerent and arrogant.

       Really, now. - mh

You would have been better off, old man, if you had posted when I asked you to do so. - Amorella

1551 hours. I'd make a comment, Amorella, but it would not be kind.

I'm in your head, old man. I know the comment already. You didn't even have to think it. It was stirring in your blood before you were born. - Amorella

32. Notes - life as / politics and kindness

32.  2 October 2019

Afternoon. You picked up Linda near the Kroger's on US23 and her friend Patti drove back to her home in Tiffin. Linda's choice -- Mellow Mushroom for pizza on Polaris Blvd. at noon. A few minutes ago, you drove to Westervelt Farms on Africa for a tomato and corn on the cob as part of a light supper. - Amorella

1634 hours. Jadah and I have taken our nap and ready for the evening. I am feeling much better today. Earlier, I did decide to upload Note 30 and Note 31 onto my Facebook page and implored any reader out there to please accept them as a connected blog. This way my friend in South Africa has no obligation to share my blogs if she so wishes. I hope that the words inspire the inner humanity in some people but that has not been my intent at all, never thought about it. I mentioned this to Carol saying, "I am not a very inspiring person as you well know," she laughed. Linda will be here for a few days so she will stir our usual routine, which is a good thing. We tend to find ourselves in a rut from time to time. We do enjoy our retirement.

You had an early supper consisting of corn on the cob, a tomato, and baked apples for dessert. - Amorella

1722 hours. Nothing in my head at the moment. Tomorrow, lunch with Fritz. The girls will go out on their own. Someone is coming to put in a new front door lock as they couldn't get a part for the old one. Other than that, we are free tomorrow. Looking forward to NBC News tonight and Linda also likes "Rachel" at nine.

       Post. - Amorella

Hey, old man, I have an idea we might explore later. - mh

1727 hours. That's fine with me, Ms Havisham.

You, Carol and Linda watched the "Rachel Maddow" show tonight with the second half focused on an interview with Hillary Clinton. You three agreed that Hillary did a very good job explaining how things can be while working at State. - Amorella

2220 hours. Hillary gave a good support of those at State who are non-political and work to do a good job for the United States at large, and I was taken back memory-wise to thinking about Carol's father and how it was at State when he was there and also working at the American Embassies in Korea, South Vietnam, Thailand, and India. I wonder what he would think of all these national political problems today. Abusive of power? Constitutional questions? A litany of political and Constitutional matters? It is easy to become depressed when dwelling on such circumstances, many because such situations appear hopeless to being resolved in any genuine manner. Such then is the world at large.

You can't set out to dam a full running river, old man. - mh

2237 hours. True, and right on point. What is the idea you want to explore, Ms Havisham?

       Empathetic kindness. - mh

2245 hours. How do you mean, compassionate kindness? I think it would not be well received by another, that the receiver would think the supposed compassion for another's plight was an insincere form of charity. A model of talking down to someone. People resent others helping them because it reminds them that they should be helping themselves out of their situation or plight.

This reminds me of the Merlyn trilogy and how earthlings might be angry to find friendly aliens helping them to do things they themselves should be doing anyway, without alien assistance. It is a Catch-22 situation. We (Amorella and I) invented a hybrid (half earthling, half Marsupialan) to be born to help the process move along. I forget her character's name. She was important in the third book. She had a womb and a pouch system. Two feminine channels, so to speak. That book was a long time ago. It felt real when we wrote them. I basically wrote them because they were not so well accomplished literary-wise.

Tomorrow, we talk, old man. - mh

2305 hours. I am too old for this kind of thing, Ms Havisham.

Exploring kindness is not too much for anyone, no matter what one's age. - mh

31. Notes - looking forward / I am surprised

31.  1 October 2019

Pre-dawn. You are fully awake and feeling much better in terms of muscles and aches on the left hip into the knee. Tomorrow, Carol's sister, Linda, who has been travelling with her old college friend, Patti, arrives for a few days before returning to Tampa. - Amorella

0544 hours. I am ready to move on from Ms Havisham's "Before the Beginning". I am quite fond of her words and their order, but perhaps I over edited. I dropped yesterday's blogpage on FaceBook for half a day and pulled it because, embarrassingly, the words aren't my work, and I don't really know how to react to the circumstance (Ms Havisham's writing is crisper, stronger defined and better writing than my own).

Using your fingers on the keyboard, I am your poetically personified soul and write accordingly. - mh

0610 hours. I don't know where we go from here. I can't imagine going further than Grace. I like the part suggesting that Grace rises; Nothing is created; and the Silent Presence of Grace, fills in the void between the Ceiling and the Floor. Physics comes in with the twisting knot of a whisper not a bang. I am probably misremembering Ms Havisham's work but that's how I remember it from last night.

We go to touch an Angel, old man, as I said earlier. We go no further. - mh

0624 hours. I look forward to reading your work, Ms Havisham. Many people in many cultures have put their imaginations to the test in creating an image of an Angel in art and/or words.

       Later, old man. - Amorella

Earlier, you received a note from one of your favorite former students. She is presently living in South Africa and she sent you a note about humanity and you decided to send her a copy of "Before the Beginning" and she enjoyed it very much as it appears to have brightened her outlook, probably because it came from you. You feel good because the bond of greater humanity touched you both at the same time even though there is great distance and time since you both met face to face. - Amorella

1508 hours. I did tell Carol about it at lunch and before errands which we are now working on. A shared consciousness is what the experience was between former student and myself. This is a reasonable reinforcer to me that Ms Havisham hit at something 'real', that a simple truth was imbedded between the lines of "Before the Beginning". I will gladly continue to share the blogpages on FaceBook if there be a chance some will gain comfort and hope from Ms Havisham's words.

       Post. - Amorella

Back to an Angel. - mh

1618 hours. I've seen lots of art and a fair amount of classical and historical literature on Angels. Personally, when I felt Amorella might be a real Angel (if there even are angels) I never had a real visual. I feel better putting in some Wikipedia background here.

You've done this many times before, old man. I'll put a damper on the material for you and delimit the Wikipedia topic. - Amorella

1622 hours. This is a surprise, Amorella. You certainly know what I know about angels.

This Angel is for souls not human beings, particularly not live ones. - mh

1625 hours. This kicks up my interest. You never said you'd 'describe' an Angel from a soul's perspective. I never thought Angels would be for souls. I never thought about what a soul would need an Angel for. -- You know, Ms Havisham, I'm a bit skeptical on all this. I've lived a long time and have seen all sorts of concepts and ideas about angels, and demons too for that matter. Belief is not a part of this agenda and neither is faith. Why does one need to believe and/or to feel a religious sense to help and comfort others? We do these things because it is the right thing to do. We help one another in time of need and misfortune and we share with others, friends and family, our good fortunes.

Below are generally common definitions/examples of angels and their nature. The added text from William Wordsworth sample shows the general concept of what The Cosmic Spirit includes. - Amorella

Angel

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article is about the cosmic spirits.
An angel is generally a supernatural being found in various religions and mythologies. Abrahamic religions often depict angels as benevolent celestial beings who act as intermediaries between God (or Heaven) and humanity. Other roles of angels include protecting and guiding human beings, and carrying out tasks on behalf of God. Abrahamic religions often organize angels into hierarchies, although such rankings may vary between sects in each religion. Such angels may receive specific names (such as Gabriel or Michael) or titles (such as seraph or archangel). People have also extended the use of the term "angel" to various notions of spirits or figures found in other religious traditions. The theological study of angels is known as "angelology". Angels expelled from Heaven are referred to as fallen angels as distinct from the heavenly host.
In fine art angels are usually depicted as having the shape of human beings of extraordinary beauty, but no gender (until the 19th century at least). They are often identified In Christian artwork with bird wings, halos, and light.

Selected and edited from Wikipedia

And,

THE COSMIC SPIRIT

"
To every form of being is assigned
An active principle:—howe'er removed
From sense and observation, it subsists
In all things, in all natures: in the stars
Of azure Heaven, the unenduring clouds,
In flower and tree, in every pebbly stone
That paves the brooks, the stationary rocks,
The moving waters and the invisible air.
Whate'er exists hath properties that spread
Beyond itself, communicating good,
A simple blessing, or with evil mixed:
Spirit that knows no insulated spot,
No chasm, no solitude; from link to link
It circulates, the soul of all the worlds."

Wordsworth. Excursion. Book VI, 1-15.

** **

2041 hours words above are a common starting point of what angels are from a human perspective. These spirits are said to exist and may appear within all that is Nature. For what purpose would an Angel be to a Soul or to many Souls? It seems reasonable to me that the Cosmic Spirit, the soul of all the worlds, would be the Angel of All Souls. No one has proofed an Angel existing, but I am not about to deny the possibility. I cannot prove souls and angels do not exist. How can one prove something was/is not? This spirit business leads a fool's trail, one I have personally led at one time or another. It is a waste of thought and logic. What then, Ms Havisham, is a Soul's Angel?

A Soul's Angel is the Human Spirit -- the spiritual heartansoulanmind. It is an example of cosmic spirit, you see. Human beings created Angels out of reason and purpose as well as for comfort and hope beyond their own lives. What soul would not be attracted to such worthy human desire, to be beyond what they can be for others, for the future beyond themselves and their own lives.

2108 hours. I have not been built to think in such terms, Ms Havisham. I cannot argue what I do not know. There is an innocence in your thinking that should not be as you know the corruptions of our species full well.

As do human beings themselves, yet, here you are, an example, an agnostic as true as any other agnostic, but you give your fingers up for two spirits you can neither see nor hear. And why? For the betterment of the human species. You are far from alone, old man. The world is full of angelic-like energy that arises from being more fully human in a positive form, in the human will to make things more humane for all the children of the world. - mh

2117 hours. I would not have expected this outcome.

Post, old man. Enjoy your sleep. - Amorella

2134 hours. I am humbly embarrassed by the simple truth in these words, but I cannot deny my humanity.

30. Notes - Lines from Ms Havisham

"Before the Beginning"
from a human soul's perspective
By Ms Havisham

Between Floor and Ceiling and among the Rows of daughter Spirits, a Presence emanates from the Floor, Nothing; up to the Ceiling, Grace. The Presence hovers between Nothing and Grace. Nothing shivers into a String of knots and the rows of Spirits with once straight roots from Nothing become Conscious, and the Rows are aware of the Ceiling in Grace.

What now? the Spirits call choir-like, in a musical thumping rhythm unheard, even within themselves. Nothing shakes Bottom, which stirs first feeling in all spiritual hearts will unconsciously beat. The tempo echoes twin-like and mathematical and cadence and lineless poetry yet to be through evolutionary circumstance alone.

These then, are the self-conscious roots in all things living. Poetry is in the circumstance, consciousness is in the roots and crafted throughout is the Presence that attracts the ever-higher weaves of life. The Presence which ever touches the Bottom of Nothing and the Height of Grace. The Presence can touch all that lives within a self-conscious state.

But, what of the Spirits who exist solely between Nothing and the Presence of Grace? Consciousness is the electricity that holds all such individual Forms whole and intact. Thought is such a Form, a rudiment of cadence in Before.

Such is the Soul such a Form tempered by Grace alone, a shield that cannot be denied by higher living conscious forms. Such Souls witnessed Physics before it was Thought. A Defining Silence erupted into Physics before it existed. Nature exists as do the Spirits exist in the Presence. Nature begets life forms in evolutionary circumstance and like the Soul, Nature cannot be denied. Life cannot be denied.

Consciousness cannot be denied and there in is the Poetry woven by what is and by what is not. Such are the tensions that rise with human and human-like consciousness. Tensions to deny what is and tensions to accept what is. Tensions that existed before the reality of Light and Darkness. These tensions to deny and accept are in the silence infinity of existence.

People know the silent Presence when alone and feel surrounded by ever separate flesh coated universes of all sizes, shapes and forms -- relatives and friends and enemies too.  Worlds and stars far away enough to be unknown and to be alone and not so much alone. This is not madness, this is what is and what is not, between Grace and Nothing.

If there were no eternal Presence they could be no Souls for human and human-like heartsanminds. Souls exist, a spiritual heartanmind is built to be encased within each. Each such soul is as a fish within a cosmic pond. For the Soul, human perspective and understanding is nourishment.

Consciousness is separate as well as one in the same. Consciousness is as friendship to the Living; consciousness is as sharing to the Dead. Consciousness is touching another soul in timelessness and being touchless in same moment. Consciousness is the gravity of how grand Humanity can be while existing between Nothing and the Silent Presence of Grace.

29. Notes - visualize / Before the Beginning

29.  28 September 2019

Later, afternoon. You are at Heritage Park after a late lunch at the Rusty Bucket off Polaris Parkway. Carol is taking a walk and you are ready to have Ms Havisham continue with "Before". - Amorella

Hey, old man, how ye be? - mh

1606 hours. I am feeling very good inside, plus my back and left hip to knee muscles/nerves are slowly loosening and the pain has subsided a bit. Your phraseology "How ye be?" reminds me of Aunt Ruthie's phrase from her Grandpa Charles (Charlie) Freeman, your Grandma Schick's father.

This is an example of how easy it is to remember the Dead you never even met in life. - mh

1621 hours. Associative recall. When I think of Caesar I think first of Shakespeare's "Et tu, Brute" when I should first have thought of Caesar's first line in Commentarii de Bello Gallico: "Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres," or, "All Gaul is divided into three parts," [Latin II with Mrs. Marybelle Clary at Westerville High].

You see, old man, you, without intent, evoke the Dead through the literature you love, that is, you evoke the author of the work. To show, by example, how subjective this is in your mind that when you evoke Shakespeare with Hamlet you first evoke Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford, because you are mostly convinced he is the writer of the plays and sonnets, not the Shakespeare of Stratford. In either case, the writer is long dead. You 'evoke' because it brings on another dimension of the words of the Dead, even through translations. - mh

1705 hours. This just show my intuitive imagination at work.

Give yourself credit where due, old man, it is not 'intuitive' it is 'innate unconsciousness'. - mh

1708 hours. I would have never thought that.

It is a part of the miswiring in your head, boy. - Amorella

1710 hours. Now that sounds more down to earth orndorff -- miswired brainage. Very funny, and much more easily accepted personally. "Accidental" keeps this old man from too much pride and or humility. -- Just checking 'evoke' in the Oxford/American and it also shows "invoke' as in invoking a spirit or deity.

Surely, there is a connection, or so it seems. - mh

1751 hours. I can visualize your smile here, Ms Havisham.

       Post. - Amorella

You are at Lowe's, Carol is buying more bird food for the wild ones out back. She wanted a Graeter's first. Good evening, windows are down and the moon roof is fully open - another summer day in September's Fall. - Amorella

Here-then we are at a draft of the Before the Beginning. - mh

Before the Beginning

Before the Reason of Physics and Things, Before the Abstract and the Grammar of Thought, Before the Empty and the Full, Grace is raised Up and Down is created. In and Out are created and in this One-Dimensional Frame balancing Nothing in the Down as the Line of Grace is raised.

Nothing rests on a single line, the Bottom. Grace reigns Supreme.  Under her reign Spirits, daughters of Grace grow in stalks corn-like.        Between Floor and Ceiling and among the Rows of daughter Spirits, a Presence emanates from the Floor, Nothing; up to the Ceiling, Grace. The Presence hovers between Nothing and Grace.        Of course, young man. - Amorella

Back to today's blog

1648 hours. This makes sense. Grace rises and Nothing exists in her wake but the rest does not flow. It is a draft.

The story flows in your mind but not your heart. Tomorrow we will work together so that Consciousness rises from Grace and provides a moral force as Grace by definition is a moral force provided indirectly just as Grace is. (This has been corrected above. - Amorella)

No. These are proto-spirits. - Amorella

You have made a separate copy titled "Thesis.Working" from the above. Every so often, if need be, we will update it. - Amorella

       1156 hours. I appreciate this.

While we are at it why don't we work on the creation story? - mh

1158 hours. I'm up for it. I needed a break for a few days. This is continuing to be of great interest to me, mostly because of curiosity. I like to learn more for perspective.

This shows you are doing this work first out of curiosity and for the fun of informal personal research. - mh

Let's stop here for now. Carol and Kim are at the register waiting to check out at L.L. Bean at Easton Centre. You will be eating lunch at Piada Street Italian nearby. - Amorella

Time for bed. You both spent much time watching MSNBC today starting at five AM. You also worked in the yard flagging places that need dirt before new grass seed is applied by Matt T. of Earth Art Landscape. The cars are back in the garage as the driveway can now be driven on. - Amorella

2250 hours. Looks like high political officials will soon be leaving a sinking Ship of State. 'Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely,' a paraphrase of a famous quotation. I assume Amorella and Ms Havisham totally agree with this.

We do not, old man. It may appear true from a human perspective, but we do not exist in a power oriented spiritual environment. - Ms Havisham and Amorella

2258 hours. How can that be? Surely G-D is All Powerful.

In this particular context we do not 'know' G-D or as your fictional marsupial humanoids call their 'Creator of All Things and Beyond' as power oriented. Their fictional name does not solicit the sense of power that the name G-D does in human cultures. Our spiritual Creator is just that, our spiritual Creator who simply expects respect as The Creator of All Things and Beyond. - mh and A

2312 hours. This is rather shocking to think on. Obviously, G-D (if one exists) would be All Powerful.

If the Creative Power is all that obvious, why would it need be mentioned in the first place? - mh

2318 hours. I have never thought that.

       Post. - Amorella

. 2327 hours. Now I remember, in context with this blog, spirits exist, they are not alive as humans are.

27. Notes - on consciousness:/ no ill will - mh

27.  26 September 2019

1223 hours. I read a good article of the study of consciousness by Philip Goff from edge dot com based on his new book Galileo's Error, Foundations for a New Science of Consciousness.

Find, if you will, a paragraph or so for focus. - -  You edited this as I wished. If anyone is more interested the full article can be read at: 'https://www.edge.org/conversation/philip_goff-a-post-galilean-paradigm'.

. . . [But] from the inside, in terms of its intrinsic nature, matter is constituted of forms of consciousness. This is a form of panpsychism, the ancient view that consciousness is a fundamental and ubiquitous feature of matter.    . . .
How do you bridge the gap from the purely quantitative properties of neuroscience to the qualities of consciousness? . . .  The truth is, every theory of consciousness has deep theoretical problems that we need to philosophize and to try and solve. That's true for the materialists as much as anyone else.  . . .
. . . Science deals with unobservable things, but it postulates unobservable things in order to explain what we can observe. What's unique about consciousness is that the thing we're trying to explain is unobservable.  . . .

One underexplored question in the science of consciousness is the relationship between thought and consciousness.    . . .

What I want to say is going on in the background here is a discussion of what the relationship between thought and consciousness is. Is thought a kind of consciousness, a kind of cognitive experience? Or is thought just something completely different to consciousness?  . . . Jesse Prinz, for example, say, ". . . When I introspect, I just find colors, sounds, shapes, emotions—that exhausts my consciousness. There's none of this cognitive consciousness. I just don't find that at all." It's hard to know how to settle this issue. It's a debate about consciousness as we immediately experience it.

2115 hours. What is most important in the article from my perspective here are these two points:

1,"What's unique about consciousness is that the thing we're trying to explain is unobservable."; and,

2, "One underexplored question in the science of consciousness is the relationship between thought and consciousness."

I agree, and we need to include these two points within the stated thesis. Post. - Amorella

I also agree. I, as a soul personified, harbor no ill will towards the scientific process. - mh
